What do you do, when you have limited knowledge, some budget, a site which sells theme that sucks?
You try to mislead people you are actually ThemeForest.net
Crappy marketers!
PS: There is no doubt that I’m an Envato for life fan, so I’m not being impartial here.
HI5.com virus/worm – genial evil mastermind behind it!

I hold a hi5.com account mainly because I like staying in touch with my friends and girlfriend.
Today, I’ve just got a friend request by some girl with the add description “Hey, I got you from hi5”.
I have no photo of myself on my account so it started very very fishy, I accepted the ad and launched a conversation.
Basically, this acts exactly as the old IRC drones use to, send a “picture” containing file.jpg.exe and spread the worm across.
The thing is, I find the bot master very smart, simply because (if) the emails were harvested automatically and the worm would send the requests and everything on itself.
I expect the spreading rate at HUGE, because the main target (Hi5 audience) consisted of kids and divas won’t even notice anything fishy.
Hopefully, hi5 will take action against this type of worm, or maybe it wasn’t even harvested from hi5.com, who knows?
Hi5 worm, ingenious yet deadly.
Oh, by the way, parents.. they could grab future credit card transactions so careful what your kids are doing on your PC!
Remind me of my old days.. *sigh*
Why most people get denied at BuySellAds

Yesterday I had to spend quite some time on 19 pages of sites awaiting approval.
That’s about 190 sites. How many made it ? 5!
Out of the 185 sites that were denied:
95% of the time the reason for denial was that the websites were created so recently, I had no stats to compare or internal data. They were made just to sell ads, and it’s not something to be enthusiastic about, we like sites to grow.
4% were denied because of the niche, we normally take sites with traffic, but even if you have a huge source of traffic, if we feel we can’t help you fill all the spots, we’ll deny.
1% were denied because of the page bugs, browser incompatibilities, design flaws.
Conclusion:
I’m pointing everyone to look at the 95%, that’s where most are situating, they have a great site but it’s not aged enough to be attractive or comparable.
Stay toned at BuySellAds Blog, I’ll write a new tutorial there soon.

This is a “Thank you” post for my dear friend Ricardo Gimenes.
I got to know this chump after he emailed me on how to optimize his ad on buysellads.com
I checked his website and saw he’s quite a talented designer, go ahead and type http://www.ricardogimenes.com or his blog at http://www.behindthewebsites.com and you’ll see what I’m talking about.
Anyways, what Ricardo decided was to make Scorpiono.com a cartoonish mascot that looks exactelly like his owner (uh..me!)
Here it is:
Let me know if you like it, Ric’s making them cheaper for my blog readers, let me know if you want one!

Quiting my job at Precision Media

Precision Media: The leader for youth marketing in Romania – advertising/publishing related.
My position: Obviously online project coordinator.
This was my first experience with real chair and laptop office, inside a building full of people doing something so they make some money for the company, and it was a pleasant one.
What have I learned:
- How to approach a client
- How to negotiate a contract (accumulated quite a lot of experience here)
- How to create a proper brief plan strategy for almost anything.
- How to communicate better at a business level. (I’m too social for normal level)
- How to know when it’s the right time to quit.
Note*: Again, I’m talking strictly about real life business, online differs a bit.
What have I liked:
- The office workspace
- Every single (almost) people that worked there.
- The fact that my boss wasn’t romanian, was a + for me. (I am romanian)
- The garden upfront
- The jokes with Ramona, the HR Specialist
What have I disliked:
- The brutal disorganization of departments
- The fact that you are working part-time, and departments have no idea that when they ask for something, each and every other department requested 2-3 things for you. You start to look a bit irresponsable, and it’s the last thing I wanted.
- Fake appreciations just so you continue your needed work for not such a motivating salary.
- Working from home gets everyone paranoid that you’re doing nothing, just being lazy, and they have the right to call you at 9 AM, and 9 PM and demand things.
I quited- I don’t want to be considered irresponsable since the volume of work was more of a full time job in my eyes and I simply couldn’t stand working 2h more a day for the same motivation. There was no other solution as I couldn’t take it full-time, nor do I think the salary would have been any good.
I have decided to move forward with my web projects (currently making me 2x the salary) and BuySellAds.com, Todd is a great guy to work with and I have great plans with him as I want to be part of a business, not a flat number in a business.
I honestly wish everyone all the best, you guys rock!

I’ve decided to create top 10 most respected users on DigitalPoint forums, some are my friends, some are people I just know and some are people that don’t know a damn about me.
So if you’re not in the list, won’t whine, just respect those who are. Rawr, that was me being bossy!

Hey, niflostancu here, for the first time!
This post is about some bugs I found in Wordpress, actually Scorpiono found them, I only analyzed and fixed them.
Both are on the same feature, the wp_rss function (and it’s dependencies), which allows you to automatically grab and display RSS feeds in your sidebar (somewhat like the upcoming Brutus [...]
The experience is unique, the feeling is great, I’ve stepped out of web anonimity with struggle and perseverence. I’ll share the story with you guys for motivation purposes.
